Hola, Butternuts! Now that Yarmony's over, it's time to look forward--to the Festival Express, part 2! Butter is headed to the Northwest in September, and we've got plans to commandeer the train again for a caped crusading glitterati kinda par-tay! Who's with me?!?

Thurs., 9/25, Domino Room, Bend
Fri., 9/26, Wonder Ballroom, Portland (catch the Amtrak --->)
Sat., 9/27, Triple Door, Seattle
Sun., 9/28, Wow Hall, Eugene

It took me a long time to get back on the train....

I'm in. Here's my plan so far:

Friday: land at 6pm or so, head to the venue
    Saturday: train to Seattle
Sunday: train from Seattle or catch a ride down to Eugene
Monday: flight home at 6am from PDX. Ouch.

    Woo hoo!

Sorry to hear that Yoster, but loving the enthusiasm for NW Butter. Thanks again Brian for thinking up the Train trip idea, and Susi what can we say. You are really the engineer on this wonderful train (can trains be run on Bio-fuels?).

My beautiful, incredible Butter family. You mean the world to the three Emersons here in Hood River. Can't say enough about all of you.....

And Bandstalker, your Monkey made my weekend in Colorado by the way. Bliss indeed......

Sadly we will miss the train once again. (What is it with us and crazy drives for team Butter?)
But chances are that you'll see us at the shows. In for Bend, Wonder Ballroom, and Eugene for sure. (And if someone promises that Struby makes it to a hometown show, probably Seattle too....)

Cape (check) Flair (digging around) Ready to go.....

Hey Scott, remember that drive to Ashland and back for an early starting show a couple of years ago? Fly out early....

Anybody see Aaron's latest blog? Looks like the band wants a reappearance of the caped crusading glitterati in the NW. C'mon, folks. I know it's hard to be so in demand, but we owe at least a little something to the band that gave us our leg up! (Plus, they serenaded us so sweetly in Seattle, doncha think?) Vancouver Dance Posse--are you out there? Bellingham Stokers? Northwest Visitors? Bay Area Booty Shakers? Pamtrack?!?! Let's glitter up and go, folks! All aboard! Time to get back on the train!!

Here's Deadesq's plans, copied from another list. All hail, fearless leader of the glitterati! ;-)

"I propose we look at the Cascades 506, leaving Portland on 9/27 at 12:15 pm, arriving in Seattle at 3:55 pm. That's the train we took last time, and it left plenty of time to get to Seattle, watch the sunset and get ready for the show. Maybe we can even get a fish at Pike Street Market.

After Seattle, the trip down to Eugene is a little more tricky, since the only train direct from Seattle is at 9:45 am, the Coast Starlight, arriving in Eugene at 5:45 p.m. Otherwise, the Cascades 513 leaves at 11:20 am, arrives in Portland at 3:00 pm. Then, it's a bus from Portland to Eugene, arriving at 5:55 pm. Either way, we'll be arriving at nearly the same time, and we'll have time to grab a bite and get to the show. That's a long day of traveling, but if we are all together, that time is going to absolutely fly by.

There's no train from Bend to Portland, but if you're so inclined, there is an Amtrak bus. Go to Amtrak for more details."

Oh, and please be forewarned: the Seattle venue is tiny. And the second show is reserved seating, first come, first serve. So git yer tiggits early, folks!
