You do need a DVD-A player or sound card>SPDIF>Stereo or you could use a PC>Squeeze box>Stereo to enjoy 24 bit audio. Over Xmas I scored a Dennon 2200 DVD player for $50 on fleabay and really have been enjoying the high fidelity audio 24 bit brings plus you can burn a whole show on one disc.
